Dasani Moisturizing Flavored Lip Balm

I'm always a sucker for the displays of random new items in Stop & Shop, and one of them had this Dasani Moisturizing Flavored Lip Balm, in "Pure Water Flavor". Who wouldn't be curious what water flavor taste like? Plus, for some reason I'm always attracted to drink brand chapsticks. Even today one of my friends saw this in my bag and said "Why are your chapsticks always drinks?!" Guess it's just a weird fetish. Any who, here's my review.

Pros: The product is really moisturizing and creamy, it always makes my lips feel really silky plus lasts all day. It has a very slight fruity smell, but it's a very clean scent so I like it. It actually doesn't have a taste if you get some in your mouth, which is probably where they get the "water" flavor from. Slim packaging makes it easy to keep in my pocket without much bulk, and it has a keyhole on the top of the cap.

Cons: The lip balm stick itself is thinner than a regular chapstick, so it tends to break off easily. The twist up design is annoying as well, sometimes when I roll it up it gets stuck and won't go back down. There's no SPF or anything, and I try to avoid that in my chapsticks.

Overall, this is such a fun little chapstick, and people are always asking where I got it, so I would recommend picking one up.

Bath & Body Works Haul

Bath & Body Works has some really good sales right now, so I'd recommend checking out their website before all the deals are gone! I literally just opened my package, and it came with a 20% off In stores and online coupon with $3 shipping, and a bunch of little coupons (Free item of your choice with any purchase of $15 or more, $10 off any purchase of $30 or more, and save 20% on your entire purchase)! The little coupons come on cardboard material, like little cards that you can put in your wallet, but I'll probably give those to my mom so she can get me some stuff from there for Christmas ;)! So here's what I got:

-Fresh Market Apple Anti-Bacterial Gel Sanitizer
I thought the packaging on this is super cute, and it'd be perfect to keep on my vanity for when I do my makeup. This was only $5 (the 50% off sale) and already without unwrapping it from the package I can smell the fresh apples. Mmm, it seriously smells like the real thing, a perfect fall scent, plus no gross sanitizer smell. The tag on the bottle says "Not Tested on Animals" which I'm super careful about, so I'm really happy about that! And let me just say, this is a really great value for only $5. You get a ton of product, and I can always just refill this bottle when it runs out.

-Warm Vanilla Sugar Eau de Toilette
I have a mini Vanilla Sugar lotion in my bag that I absolutely love, so I was excited to see this discounted from $26 to $13, and I believe it still is along with some other fragrances. I'm so happy with this, just because I've never owned any legit, full sized perfumes. The bottle looks so pretty, and there's so much product it will last forever. I was worried it wouldn't smell exactly like the lotion, but I just sprayed it and I'm happy to say it does. I definitely recommend going to get one of these before they're all out!

-Travel Size Secret Wonderland Body Lotion
They had some deal on the website that you could get a travel size of their new fragrance for $1, so of course I did. These are the perfect size to keep in my school bag, and they really last such a long time. I currently have a Vanilla Sugar one in there (for probably a little over a year) and there's still a lot of product left (even with everyone always asking to barrow it >:( ) I was worried I wasn't going to like the smell, but I actually thing it's really nice, nothing like I've smelled before. It's a little musky, so I'd probably stick to wearing this at night. But you can't beat a $1 value!

-Travel Size Secret Wonderland Fragrance Mist
Just like the lotion, Bath and Body Works had a deal where you could get the travel spray of their new fragrance for $2. It's the perfect size to pop in your bag, and I get sick of smells really easily so I wouldn't buy the full size anyway. Smells exactly like the lotion, like I said it's more of a night time smell to me.

I'm so excited that today my order from All Cosmetics Wholesale came in! I didn't order that much stuff, but on what I did get, I saved a ton of money. The link to the website is here and I would recommend looking there for some stuff you want, because it's generally cheaper than getting it from the drugstore or higher end stores! So here's what I got:

-Benetint by Benefit mini
I've been dying to get the full sized one, but I just can't justify spending $28 for a bottle when I'm not sure whether I'll like it or not. So I saw this, and it was only $5.99. If I like it I'll get the full size and I'll have a mini for my purse, if not, oh well at least I didn't waste $28.

-L'oreal Hip Jelly Balm Trio in Plush, Savory, and Luscious
I really wanted these because from online pictures they didn't seem to have any shimmer, which I despise in lip glosses. All Cosmetics Wholesale has a pack of the three mentioned above for $8.99, and I've heard that's the price of one, saving me $18.

-Rocket City all over color in Solar Slammin, Moon Groovin, and Cosmic Crusin
I wasn't planning on getting these because I wouldn't use them for anything other than eyeshadow, and I don't even where eyeshadow often, but the colors are so gorgeous that I had to (plus each one was only $1.99). I was kinda disappointed when I opened my package to find out how small these are, but it's fine because I'll probably never use the entire thing anyway.

Review of All Cosmetics Wholesale:
I came across this site when I was looking for some discounted MAC makeup (yeah I know, bad idea)! They have a ton of high-end and drugstore brands to look through, and they update their stock frequently. I'm not sure if I'll order from them again, just because with all the savings you make, they gouge you with the cost of shipping (standard is $8.50)! But I guess I still saved $9.50 on the L'oreal Jelly Balms, so not a total loss. Also, on some of the products I got, they didn't put a label? My Plush L'oreal Jelly Balm didn't come with the label sticker telling you what color it is, and my Rocket City all over color in Cosmic Crusin didn't come in a little box, but the others did. Not a big deal, but it's just a little annoying because I like to store my stuff in the original box! So hopefully you check them out and find some good deals of your own (just make sure you still save money including the cost of shipping)!

I had such high hopes for this foundation since I've heard so many positive reviews about it. I went to Wal-Mart to pick out my perfect shade, and spent 20 minutes doing so with my mom so I'd have a second opinion. We found my color, W3 Nude Beige. I used it before school the next day, only to be mortified when everyone kept telling me my face looked orange.

Pros: This foundation is super blendable and works well over concealer.

Cons: I know I have an exact match shade, but this foundation looks different in my schools fluorescent lights than my lights at home. I look like I belong on The Jersey Shore, because for some reason this color makes my skin really orange-y! From looking at the bottle, I can also see that the foundation itself has little specks of glitter in it, which is irritating, I want my foundation to be completely matte!

So I wouldn't recommend this product if your match is W3 Nude Beige, but maybe it works better for other skin tones.

Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen

No-mess liquid eyeliner creates a precise line from soft to dramatic
-Felt tip controlled application
-Smudge-proof lasting color that wears up to 16 hours
-Easier to apply than traditional liquid eyeliners

Available in 3 Shades:
  • Blackest Black
  • Black
  • Blackened Brown
Pros: Lasts through the day without any cracking line some other liquid liners. Would be good for really detailed body art.

Cons: It took me at least 5 minutes of tugging to finally get the cap off, and when I did, I was overwhelmed by a gross odor. It smells like a moldy sharpie pen. The felt tip applicator is nice, but it's really hard to get close to your lashline as you need to turn the pen completely horizontal to your eye to get the thick line. I find that the color comes out uneven; the product is really liquidy. I have to let it dry, and go over my line again to get it to be the actual "Blackest Black" color.

Rimmel Special Eyes Eyeliner Pencils

Special Eyes Eye Liner Pencil produces a precise and well defined line for accentuating the eyes with an intense, fade resistant colour finish.

Available in 8 Shades:
  • Panama 111
  •  Rich Brown 114
  • Azure Shimmer 121
  • Ivy 130
  • Navy Blue 135
  • Burgundy 140
  • Black Magic 161
  • Hurricane Grey 164

Pros: They're cheap.

Cons: The product is not the least bit creamy, and tugs at the skin around your eyes when you try to put it on. You have to really press hard for it to even come out a little bit, and once it does finally decides to, the color isn't even. Some parts are darker than others, and it just looks like a huge mess. I tried warming them up in my hands a little, and it's still blotchy. The colors look ugly in the packaging, and worse on your face.

From my experience, Rimmel should just stop trying to make a good eyeliner.

Rimmel Eyeful Eye Glistener

Left to Right: Straight Laced, Stand Out, Girls Only, Flaunt; Photo by Makeup And Beauty Blog

The made-easy wet look tool for glossing lids in vibrant, yet transparent, rainbow colours. This glistening eye colour can be used as a shadow or liner.

Available in 5 Shades:
  •  Girls Only (100)
  • Straight Laced (200)
  •  Talk To Me (400)
  • Stand Out (500)
  • Flaunt (700)

Left to Right: Straight Laced, Stand Out, Girls Only, Flaunt; Photo by Makeup And Beauty Blog

Pros: The colors are beautiful, and there's so much pigmentation. I have the pencils in 500 Stand Out, which is a really glittery lime green color, and 400 Talk To Me, a shimmery teal blue. They go on super smooth because the product is so creamy, but I think that's why it creases super easily.

Cons: Half way through first period I can already see the liner start to crease, which is why I've never tried to use these all over my lid, it would just be a big mess. There's so much product in the pencil, but there's no way to get it out. I've tried sharpening my Eye Glisteners, but it the tips just end up getting all smooshed.

These pencils look so cute, and I wish they would work better, but they just don't!

Clinique Brow Shaper

I'm not one to be really interested in eyebrow products just because mine are generally full and shapely, so I don't see the point. But one day while shaping my brows with a buzzy razor thing, my hand slipped and it just wasn't a pretty scene. So I had to get something to fill in my eyebrow until it had time to grow back. I found Clinique's Brow Shaper at Sephora, and it was reasonably cheap, so I went ahead with that one. Since it's the only brow shaper I've ever had, I don't have anything to compare it to, but I really love this product.

Pros: In the 8th grade we were forced into taking swimming, and this brow shaper would last the entire session in the pool. It stays in place all day without needing to reapply. My hair is naturally dark brown, but I bought the Soft Brown color and it blends really well to look natural, unlike the pencils which you can clearly tell when someone uses. The little angled applicator that comes with it is really nice, it makes getting the arches easier. The packaging is useful as well, it fits into any bag, and I love how you can just slide it open.

Cons: I had my Clinique Brow Shaper for about two years before the applicator broke, and now it's a pain to use because I don't have a portable brush. Also you need to swipe a brush into the product multiple times to pick it up, otherwise you really don't get enough on it for your brow.

I recommend this product to anyone whose looking for a nice natural looking brow.

Maybelline Lash Stylist Mascara

Introducing: My all-time favorite mascara. And of course with my luck, it's now discontinued. I bought this such a long time ago, and actually hated it at first. I thought it was just way too heavy and made my lashes clump like there's no tomorrow, but now I really wish I had realized my love for this product sooner.

Pros: Makes your lashes really dramatic,so much length and volume. This mascara also has a very mild odor that you probably wouldn't even notice without directly smelling.

Cons: This mascara pretty much never comes off, even after two showers it still smudges under my eyes. I think that's because my Lash Stylist is waterproof, but I can't be sure because the label rubbed off. Obviously another huge con is  that you can't get this is stores anymore, you have to find it online, which isn't hard to do, just a pain to deal with shipping and waiting for it to arrive.

I would recommend this mascara to anyone looking for super dramatic lashes without the hassle of fake ones.

Sephora Collection Professional Clear Natural Mascara

Ideal for accentuating your lashes by separating, curling, and imparting a soft sheen, or for combing and holding hard-to-tame brows in place, our clear mascara is a must-have essential a gal can't live without.

Pros: The wand is short, so It makes getting into your inner lashes easier. It makes my lashes look naturally long and a little bit glossy. Also, this mascara separates your lashes really well. It has an odor, like every mascara, but you won't notice it unless you sniff the brush (as I just did). It washes off really easily in the shower. I don't put two coats of it on so maybe that's why, but people have said it can be a little flaky sometimes. The first time I used this mascara I ended up poking myself in the eye, but I'm happy to say the product doesn't burn like some others do.

Cons: When re-inserting the wand into the tube, it's a little difficult to push through the gel.

I love this product, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a natural eye.

For Best Results

Do not let dry between coats. Removes easily with soap and water or Expert Eyes® 100% Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover.

Pros: Separates all your lashes evenly, and makes them really long.

Cons: After about 2 hours of wearing this, I get black smudges underneath my eyes, which I used to think was because it wasn't waterproof, but I recently discovered my mascara is. After school, from just oils on your face and sweat, some of the mascara inevitably gets in your eyes, and Lash Stiletto really burns, I find myself needing to keep my eyes shut for a few minutes. When you take the wand out of the tube, you can instantly smell this strong, funky odor. I guess all mascaras have some sort of odor, but this is the worst one I've ever had. Also, the wand is large at the end, making getting your inner lashes coated difficult. The tube itself really bothers me as well, I don't know why, I just think the red color is really ugly/the stiletto shape is irritating.

So I wouldn't recommend this mascara to anyone, it's just not good quality.

Sephora Collection Super Shimmer Lip Gloss

So I'm not a huge fan of lip gloss, but for Christmas my mom got me a package of mini Sephora lip glosses that comes with most of the ones they list on their website here, http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P44800&categoryId=S6100&shouldPaginate=true
Since I don't really like to wear lip gloss I was thinking I wouldn't really like this, But I actually do quite a bit. Some of them are super shimmery (bronze beauty, desert gold, precious pink, apricot souffle, and rosy glow) and I don't like shimmer in any type of makeup, but I do think these would be great for Holiday parties. Others are matte (in the buff and feverish fuchsia) and I do use these ones quite often.

Pros: The tiny gift set that I received has the mini glosses, which makes them super portable. All of them have a really nice vanilla-y smell, and they taste sweet if you get a little in your mouth. The colors are fairly sheer, so when I wear the feverish fuchsia color, my lips aren't over poweringly plum. These last a really long time too, I love that I don't have to apply it over and over again. Also, the ones with glitter in them don't feel gritty, they all have a very smooth texture.

Cons: These lip glosses can be a little sticky sometimes.

I would recommend these to anyone, they've converted me into a lip gloss person (at least this brand)

EOS Lip Balm In Lemon Drop

We know how you feel. We Want lip balm whose feel and packaging makes us smile, shaving cream that leaves our legs smooth and moisturized, and natural body lotion that makes our skin oh-so-touchable.
You're going to want to feel the difference.
Try eos and you'll know what we mean.

Lemon Drop Smooth Sphere:

Pamper your lips while you protect them from the sun with this SPF 15 lip balm that’s naturally flavored and PABA free.

Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, soothing shea butter and jojoba oil, eos keeps lips moist, soft and sensationally smooth.

Pros: The EOS lip balm in Lemon Drop smells so fresh and delicious, exactly like freshly cut lemons! There's SPF 15 for UVA/UVB protection. The egg packaging is super unique, I've never seen anything like it! This lip balm has decent staying power, and the product is really creamy so it moisturizes my lips.

Cons: When I first got my EOS lip balm in Lemon Drop, I wasn't aware that you twist it open, not pull! I wish that the package said how to open it somewhere. After much use, I had to eventually stick my fingers in the little egg to get all of the lip balm out. It's a little tricky to get these lip balms to fit in jean, or other pants, pockets because they are bulky-er than traditional chapsticks. These also tend to roll around a lot and fall off tables!

Where To Buy: CVS, Walgreens, or the EOS website

I'm absolutely sticking to buying EOS Smooth Spheres for all my chapstick needs from now on, and I recommend you check out Lemon Drop and the other flavors!

Chapstick True Shimmer

This is the only ChapStick® with shimmering highlights. Dress your lips with a radiant shine every time you put one on.
Noticeable lips with a subtle shine.
Creamy Moisturizing ingredients.

Ingredients:
petrolatum, paraffin, mineral oil, octyldodecanol, bis-diglyceryl-polyacyladipate-2, caprylic/capric triglyceride, arachidyl propionate, phenyl trimethicone, beeswax. Contains 1% or less of: cetyl alcohol, copernicia cerifera (carnauba) wax, flavor, hydrogenated vegetable oil, isopropyl myristate, lecithin, methylparaben, propylparaben, saccharin, mica, red 40 lake, titanium dioxide

Pros: They smell pretty good.

Cons: The chunks of glitter that are left on your face look absolutely gross, and the texture of the chapstick is really gritty. I wore the True Shimmer for a while, hoping it would grow on me, but I really despise this invention from Chapstick. It does absolutely nothing to moisturize your lips, which is the whole point of chapstick to begin with. The Tropical one makes my lips look and feel ashy.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, even if you want to look like you've been eating glitter.

Vitamin Schtick Chapstick

Last year for Christmas I was pleasantly surprised to find Vitamin Schtick Chapstick (in flavors Tropical Citrus, XXX, Fruit Punch, and Dragonfruit) in my stocking. I was so excited because I love the actual flavored waters, so I thought the chapsticks would be amazing. But I kind of have mixed reviews on them.

Pros: The packaging is really cute and whenever I pull it out of my pocket or wherever, people are always like "That's so cool! Where did you get it?" because they look practically identical to the drink bottles. The chapsticks themselves smell really, really good, exactly like the flavor vitamin water they represent. Unlike some other flavored chapsticks, they don't have a gross taste if you accidentally get a little in your mouth. And lastly, they include SPF, which I always look for to protect my lips.

Left to Right: Focus, Multi-V, Power-C, Revive, XXX; Photo by Buzznet

Cons: The chapstick material is like a weird gel substance? It takes effort to get a good amount on your lips, which I always like to have a thick layer, but you have to have a good 10 swipes on the upper and lower lip to get nice coverage. Another problem is that it doesn't last very long, so you'll be whipping it out repeatedly. And I don't know if this is because of the gel-ish stick itself, or because you need so much effort to put it on, but I've broken off the top end of my chapsticks quite frequently.

Because of all the problems I've had with the substance of the chapstick, when I saw the Vitamin Schtick roll-on lip gloss, I thought it would be perfect. But it still has it's fair share of problems. Again, it smells amazing, but if you get the liquid in your mouth, prepare for a vial taste. And it still doesn't last long, I find myself habitually pulling it out. Pretty much the only problem this roll-on solved was that it goes on easily.

So, I would not recommend this chapstick to those who like good quality ones.
But if you like your chapsticks to look nice and don't really care how they work, go ahead and get it.
