July Favorites!

Is it weird that I'm glad summer is winding down and coming to an end? My birthday is in July, so of course its my favorite month, but I think I'm just ready for boots, scarves, and all the gorgeous jewel toned colors that come with fall! But until then (we still have a way to go before the seasons change), here are the things I've been enjoying in July:

Urban Decay Naked Palette

I absolutely treasure this palette, the colors and amazing and the quality is fantastic! In particular, my go-to eye look using the Naked Palette is Smog all over the lid, Naked to blend out the edges, Darkhorse to deepen the outer v, and Virgin on the inner corner/highlight. I'm always coming up with new ways to combine the shadows in the Naked Palette, it never seems to bore me!

Rimmel Special Eyes Precision Eye Liner Pencil in Black Magic

I'm not a huge eyeliner girl, most days I skip it completely. But lately I've been craving a bit of extra drama on my eyes so I've been running the Rimmel Special Eyes Liner along my upper lash line and smudging it out with a stiff brush. Its not amazing in terms of staying power, it tends to smudge onto my lid because I have hooded eye lids, but for an eyeliner newbie like me the Rimmel Liner is great because its super pigmented and easy to smudge, so its hard to mess up!

COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers Eyeshadow in Brown Smolder

COVERGIRL has since updated the packaging of their shadows, forgive me because I've had this for such a long time! I used to hate using this, its just not blendable and looks very flat on my eyes. But I recently went through my makeup collection and tried to find new ways to use products so they don't go to waste. My new favorite way to get use out of this COVERGIRL shadow is to use it on my brows! In the pan, the color looks like it has a little bit of shimmer to it but it honestly doesn't translate when swatched. Brown Smolder can come off a little harsh if I'm not light handed with it and tends to smudge throughout the day if I forget to set it with a brow gel. Despite all that, I'm determined to at least hit pan on this before I move onto something else for my brows, and I've actually been loving the really defined look its been giving me!

MAC Studio Finish Concealer SPF 35 in NW20

This concealer is such an optical illusion. I've had this thing for a year and a half and trust me, I use it every single day. But does that little indent I've made in it get any deeper? Nope! I guess its a good thing I like the Studio Finish Concealer so much, since its going to literally last forever. This is such a staple for me, it really helps to correct all the hyperpigmentation left on my face from acne, and recently I've loved it for under my eyes since it covers absolutely everything!

Revlon ColorBurst Lipgloss in Sunset Peach

Revlon knocks it out of the park with their lip products and their glosses are no exception! Sunset Peach is such a great summer color, its not overly shimmery and has an awesome non-sticky texture but still manages to last a couple hours before I need to re-apply.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Crush

Continuing with the theme of Revlon lip products, I've already raved about HERE so I won't go into too much detail, but this is my newest Balm Stain that's a nice wine color that still works in summer but will most definitely transition nicely into the fall months!

  1. I just got the Naked palette and am beyond excited! I have not yet used it, but am glad to see it on so many bloggers' fave list! I don't wear eyeshadow much but would like to start again- nudes are an easy way to get into the groove again:)

    1. You certainly won't regret having it :)
Yeah I go through phases where I'm never really happy with how my eyeshadow is looking/my combinations, but the Naked Palette always helps me get back in the swing of things!

      xx
