Hey guys, I know I've been pretty absent lately on my blog but I'm going to be making some life update posts soon to fill you in on everything that's been going on!
On another note, it's crazy to think it's already May and we're almost half way through 2013. I thought New Years was yesterday?! But any who, on to what I've been wearing on my face throughout the April since I feel like I give the time flies speech every month ;)
1. Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette ($27.00)- Everybody and their mother has talked about this product since it came out around the holidays, but trust me, it deserves every mention! It looks pretty plain on first glance, but the colors work together perfectly to create a barely there eye look. On lazy days I've been taking W.O.S. all over my lid, Naked 2 in the crease, Faint to deepen up the outer v, and Venus as a highlight.
2. Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in Light- The lovely Seonaid of Beauty and Baggage sent this to me from the UK when we did a swap a few months back (a post to come on that!) and it has been an absolute lifesaver. This stuff will cover anything and everything you need it to, it's pretty much an industrial strength concealer. I do find it a tad drying so you need to make sure to moisturize your face really well before applying your makeup. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find anywhere online in the U.S. to order this concealer from but I need to find a site soon because I am running out!
3. tarte Clean Slate Poreless 12-Hr Perfecting Primer (full size $30.00)- In a mission to get more use out of all the makeup I've accumulated, I've taken a liking to this primer from tarte. It doesn't do much in terms of helping my makeup stay on longer, but I really like how it fills on my pores and really helps smooth out any dry patches on my face before my foundation
4. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Whiskey (full size $19.00)- This is another sample that I tossed aside a long time ago because I'm not one to really ever use eyeliner, but rediscovering it has sparked an addiction! Most of the time I feel black is too harsh to wear and it really closes off my eyes, so this deep brown shade is perfect to still get that definition. I've been smudging this along my lower lash line on the outer edges and sometimes it does travel a bit (especially on extra hot days) but for the most part it's held up the best out of any eyeliner I've ever tried on my watery eyes. I'm usually not one to pay $19.00 for something as trivial as eyeliner, but i think I'm going to have to get a full size of Whiskey when my sample comes to an end!
I've been going for a very minimal makeup look lately so there's not very many favorites this month, but I like doing that from time to time so you can really tell how well a product works for you because you're not layering a ton of stuff over it! It's also been a great way to discover some new favorites in my collection that I haven't ever really given a good use before.
What did you guys love throughout April?
