Bath & Body Works is coming out with a new limited edition (I believe) fragrance called Sparkling Blackberry Woods! There was a special preview day on November 24th where you could purchase the lotion for only $5.00, so of course I grabbed it.
I'm not the best at describing scents and of course everything is going to smell different to everyone and on everyone, but I'm going to try and tell you guys my first impressions of Sparkling Blackberry Woods and how it wears on me!
Moisturize with a mystic mix of winter berries and warm woods, immersed in our exclusive hydrating formula. Skin-softening shea butter, Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E deliver all-day moisture, making it the perfect everyday lotion.
Sparkling Blackberry Woods fragrance notes:
Top: Juicy Blackberry, Sparkling Mandarin, Succulent Raspberry
Mid: Honeysuckle Petals, Vanilla Orchid, Blushed Peony
Dry: Cocoa Woods, Caramel Patchouli, Warm Musk
Sparkling Blackberry Woods scared me a bit when I first heard of it because I don't particularly care for the heaviness of their other scent Twilight Woods. But I've been pleasantly surprised with how much I like it!
When you first take a whiff of Sparkling Blackberry Woods it's almost as if you've stepped into a fancy French desserts store, the vanilla and caramel patchouli create a sophisticated cake scent (if that's even possible)! The longer you smell it the more notes start to chime in and it becomes very complex. After the initial sweetness, the berries come out giving a fruity edge though you can't really decipher any specific fruit as they all mesh nicely together. Then the peony and honeysuckle create a lightness to Sparkling Blackberry Woods that you wouldn't expect.
At first I thought this fragrance was more of a fall/winter scent because of the richness but then you get more of the floral on the skin and it becomes light and playful. Don't be scared off by the initial sweetness, I promise that it lightens up and you get more of the fruit once it has time to sit! To me, Sparkling Blackberry Woods smells similar to Secret Wonderland but lacks the tart strawberry, they both seem to die down in the same way on my skin.
I get about 5 or 6 hours of fragrance on my skin before Sparking Blackberry Woods fades to the point where it's only a little bit of vanilla and berry on my skin. I cannot wait to get my hands on the Shower Gel and Fine Fragrance Mist to see how long I can get this to last because I'm in love with this scent! The bottle design is very elegant as well, I like the pink and purple combination.
