Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Blush

Mineral Sheers Blush is a whole new way to blush, naturally! It not only delivers the perfect amount of color every time, it's actually good for skin.

Developed by dermatologists, this lightweight powder contains pure, gentle minerals that soften and smooth skin, while the innovative all-in-one brush delivers just the right amount of color. With naturally-derived silk powder, patented Total Soy, and an exclusive multi-vitamin complex of Vitamin E, Pro-Retinol, Vitamin C and Pro-Vitamin B5, even the most sensitive skin is beautifully conditioned and toned.

In six luxurious shades, there's no better way to enjoy healthy-looking, glow-from-within color--naturally.

  • Oil-free

  • Non-irritating

  • Fragrance-free

  • Dermatologist developed

  •
    Available in 6 Shades:
    • Illuminator
    • Precious Pink
    • Natural Apricot
    • Silky Sable
    • Rare Rose
    • Pure Plum

I've never been a big fan of Neutrogena skin products just because they've never worked for me, but I thought I'd give their cosmetic line the benefit of the doubt. Now I know their skin stuff works just the same as their makeup.

Pros: I have the color "Natural Apricot 20" and it looks really pretty in the container. The product also has no smell, which I like.

Cons: The attached brush is absolutely terrible. After shaking the container about 40 times, product actually starts to come out. But when I went to use it, this crappy brush spewed blush all over my face. There's no way to use this without the brush since it's attached, so I'm probably just going to end up throwing it out. The colors look absolutely NOTHING like they do on the Neutrogena Website.

Spend your money on something else, this isn't worth it.

    Christmas Wish List Part One

I'm so excited that there's all the Christmas-y comericals on t.v now :). They make me feel so cozy and festive; I love this time of year so much. Now all we need is some snow... But until then, I've decided to make my list early (I'll probably make some more as I'm always changing my mind about what I want)
I'll start off with lip products:
    -EOS Limited Edition Holiday Collection
The packaging on these looks so cute, it's a perfect stocking stuffer. Plus the limited edition flavor Pomegranate Raspberry sounds SO good. I'm also hoping to get another Lemon Drop one (I accidentally put a huge dent it mine when I droped it) and the Summer Fruit to complete my collection.

    -NYX Fruit Basket Gloss
These are so adorable, how could you not want them? Plus they're only $9 and I bet they smell amazing.

-Benefit Silky Finish Lipstick in Good to Go
I saw that this was used on Kristen Stewart in her Twilight makeup breakdown, and I've wanted it since. Her lips are the perfect barely there color in the movie, so I hope it looks as good on me as it does on her.

-MAC Satin Finish Lipstick in Cherish
I was actually looking into getting the shades Hue or Angel, but I saw swatches of them and they just aren't that appealing to me, plus Angel is a frost finish which I hate. Cherish looks a little too brown in the tube, but I love the swatches I've seen of it. So I'm hoping it'll be my perfect nude shade.

    -NYX Tinted Lip Spa
All of the colors this comes in look absolutely gorgeous, but I think my top picks are Copacabana, Metador, and Jewel. These would be perfect to keep in my school bag so I can keep reapplying them during the day.

    -Chapstick Ultra Smooth
I saw these in Target a while ago, and I just think they look so cute. I hope when I get these that it will redeem the Chapstick brand in my eyes after their terrible line of shimmer chapsticks.

    Next I'll do blush:

-Coastal Scents 10 Piece Professional Blush Palette
I don't like palettes for anything, they're just so bulky and a hassle, but I really think I'd get a lot of use out of this one. I only have 2 blushes at the moment, and really wanted the MAC ones, but for the price of one of those I can get 10 of these. A lot of these colors look good for contouring as well, which I really want to try. I've also been dying to get some products from Coastal Scents because I've heard they have some good stuff.

    -NYX Powder Blush in Red
I either like my blush to be really natural or really bright, and when I saw this NYX blush in Red, I knew I had to have it. Also, the Cinnamon color is supposed to be really matte, so I may add that to my list, but I'm worried it may look a little orange.

    Moving on to eyes:
    -Sephora Collection Eye Primer Pot
I was planing on getting the MAC primer, but apparently it has really terrible reviews? So I'd rather try this out knowing that I can return it without any problems.

Ahh, nothing better than this time of year :)

    Cargo OneBase Concealer + Foundation

I went to Sephora about a year ago and asked them for a good concealer to hide the dark spots on my face, and the woman recommended this. I actually don't think they carry Cargo products anymore? So that might make purchasing this again a little difficult, but If you're looking for a concealer with heavy coverage, I'd invest some time in trying to find this.

Pros: It covers the dark spots on my face pretty well with in a couple of coats, and I never need to reapply, this concealer lasts all day. I've recently started using this as an eyeshadow primer, and it actually seems to work pretty well. The tube is huge and you get a ton of product so it will last such a long time; I've had mine for over a year and there's more than half the tube left.

Cons: The product is really liquidy, so I like to put my powder on first and then put this on so it has something to stick to. With the little doe foot applicator I don't know how you could actually use this as a foundation? So Cargo should re-think their packaging, plus this silver tube is pretty ugly compared to other concealers. I also feel that the applicator spreads bacteria on my face when I use it to cover up acne, so they really should just have it be a squeeze out tube.

This Cargo concealer is pretty pricey at $26, but if you're looking for something with multi purposes, this product is worth it.

    Maybelline Dream Matte Powder

A pressed powder innovation, Dream matte Powder's ultra-fine formula delivers an amazing air-soft feel and silky texture.
    - Jet-milled into ultra-fine particles for an air-soft, ultra-silky texture
    - Revolutionary liquid binder ingredients provide cushiony smooth application
    - Formula ensures superior blendability for even application every time
    - Magically matches skin's texture, never dusts up or settles into lines

    For Best Results

Apply Dream Matte Powder onto your forehead, nose, cheeks and chin with the provided puff using gentle downward strokes. Build coverage gradually.

Pros: After I wash and moisturize my face it always looks shiny, and this powder makes it all completely matte, plus no matter how much I put on it doesn't seem to get cakey. The little swivel mirror is really handy for checking my face at school in case I need a touch up. I bought the color medium sand, and when I hold the compact up to my face it doesn't seem to match, but it does blend really well into my skin. This powder also sets my concealer really well, and it doesn't budge all day.

Cons: There are tiny, tiny sparkles in the product, which is so irritating because it's supposed to be MATTE, and I don't know why you would want to have glittery foundation anyway? But they don't show up on my skin, so I guess it's not too much of a problem. The swivel mirror is nice, but the little puff that comes with it is completely useless, it makes the powder look cakey (but it is really soft).

I've hit tin on this product, and I'll probably be getting another one as it's the best matte powder I've ever used, so I'd recommend trying it out.

O.P.I Nail Lacquer "Pink Before You Leap"

I've actually had this polish for such a long time and never used it, but now I'm excited it's November and we're getting close to the holiday season, so I though I'd break it out. As I said before, I take a ceramics class so I need really good nail polish otherwise it just wont last, and that's why I'm starting to get into high end nail polishes; the N.Y.C. ones aren't cutting it anymore.

Pros: So far it's stayed on my nails really well, no chipping or anything. I love the O.P.I bottles for some reason, I just think you get so much product so it justifies paying $8.50 for them, and the bottles look really elegant on my vanity. This polish dries so quickly I was surprised; after about 10 minutes my nails seemed to be totally dry. That undeniable nail polish-y smell isn't as bad with this brand as some of the others I've had, so I won't pass out from the fumes. The polish brush is also really wide, which makes getting your toes in a couple swipes really easy.

Cons: The color looks so beautiful in the bottle, I wish it came out that way. I've put 3 coats on my toes, and the color is just so sheer it doesn't look like much from far away. But if you hold your nails in the light, they sparkle insanely.

Please excuse the chipped nails, it was a long week.
    (This is 3 coats)
It may not come out exactly like the bottle, but I still love this color and nothing beats the O.P.I quality.
